It's a packed Halloween week for south metro residents, with comedy, a hotel takeover and family-friendly fall events all within a short drive.

Comedy Works South at the Landmark kicks things off Wednesday, Oct. 28, with its Spooktacular Showcase at 7:30 p.m. A second show follows Saturday, Oct. 31, at 8 p.m. Tickets run $18 to $27.

The club, at 5345 Landmark Place, assembles two rotating lineups of local stand-up comedians for the shows, Westword reported. Themed drink specials set the mood, though the comics are not required to perform Halloween material. Specific performer names have not been announced.

On Halloween night, the DoubleTree by Hilton Denver Tech Center at 7801 E. Orchard Road transforms into the Paranormal Palace, a 21-and-older hotel takeover now in its 17th year. The event runs 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. and features a haunted forest ballroom, three DJs, more than 20 performers and a $2,500 costume contest. Costumes are mandatory.

Most ticket tiers are already gone. According to the event's ticket page, advance general admission and VIP sold out, and every hotel room is booked. As of Oct. 26, organizers said 50 hold-back tickets remained at $99, fees included. There are no door sales.
